Augmentation and backup of essential ASOS elements, and the collection of supplemental weather data shall be in accordance with Weather Service Observing Handbook Number 7 (WSOH #7), the ASOS User's Guide; the Federal Meteorological Handbook Number one (FMH-1); and other associated manuals and instructions provided by the government. The contractor shall provide an adequate number of National Weather Service (NWS) certified ASOS cooperators to augment/backup the essential elements of ASOS and collect supplemental weather data on a continuous basis, 24-hours daily. The base period will begin January 1, 1999 with two (2) option periods. This requirement is 100% set aside for small business. SIC code 8999 applies. The small business size standard is $5 million.
