A-RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT -- BROAD AGENCY ANNOUNCEMENT FOR THE DEMONSTRATION OF AGRICULTURALLY BASED BIOREMEDIATION TECHNOLOGIES RELEVANT TO PACIFIC ISLAND ECOSYSTEMS PROGRAM, A CHANGE IN THE DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION OF PRE-PROPOSALS As part of a collaborative research, development and demonstration effort with the U. S. Army Environmental Center and the Department of Agriculture, the U. S. Army Engineer Waterways Experiment Station (WES) has issued a Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) on 15 September 1998 under the provisions of FAR 6.102(d)(2). Proposals were requested to furnish all necessary labor, materials, and equipment to (1) Execute a technology demonstration or (2) Conduct community outreach activities in support of the Demonstration of Agriculturally Based Biomediation Technologies Relevant to Pacific Island Ecosystems Program. This BAA originally called for submission of pre-proposals (white papers) not later than 09 October 1998. The government has decided to extend the deadline for submission of pre-proposals. Pre-proposals will now be accepted until 30 September 1999 or until all funds available for this project have been obligated, whichever comes first.
