The U.S. Department of State, Foreign Service Institute (FSI), is soliciting bids for accommodations and required group porterage for the students and staff of the Economic and Commercial Studies Program during the Program's annual trip to New York in April of 1999. Accommodations are to include approximately 28 single-occupancy rooms for the nights of April 21 and 22, and two of those rooms for storage of bags during the day of Friday, April 23. The students and staff will arrive via chartered bus on Wednesday, April 21, at approximately 4:30 p.m.. and will depart on Friday, April 23, at approximately 6:00 p.m. The hotel must be conveniently located near the site of the group's appointments at Citicorp, 53rd street and Lexington Avenue, and other mid-town Manhattan financial institution, as well as near Lexington Avenue subway line to facilitate the commute to the Wall Street district. Bids will be evaluated according to the following criteria: (1) Reliability of hotel to provide specified requirements (2) Quality of accommodations and services (3) Convenience of location to business appointments (4) Cost.
