Y -- REPAIR REFUGE TOUR ROAD SOL 60181-9 -- B034 DUE 010799 POC Germaine Sylliaasen, 303-236-5412, x238 Y -- Fish and Wildlife Services has a requirement to furnish all labor, material and equipment required to rehabilitate 9.6 miles of existing tour roadway. The work includes all site work, remove and stockpile the topsoil layer, shape, grade, condition and compact the native sand to form a roadway subgrade. Furnish, place and compact four inches of crushed rock material over the compacted subgrade. Furnish, place and compact an additional two inches of crushed rock surfacing material. Furnish and stockpile additional gravel surfacing material at designated locations within the project site for future maintenance of the roadway by Government personnel. In isolated, unstable areas, roadway rehabilitation will incorporate a geotextile fabric placed between the roadway crushed rock and the sand subgrade. The project will also include furnishing and placing wire basket and mattress rock gabion lake shore erosion protection at designated locations. The location of the work is within the sandhills region of Northern Nebraska, at the Valentine National Wildlife Refuge, Valentine, Nebraska. The estimated value of the project is between $500,000 and $1,000,000. The contract period of performance will be 90 calendar days from the contractor's receipt of the notice to proceed. The issuance of the solicitation may include a winter shutdown clause and will be available on or about December 8, 1998. This solicitation will be open to both small and large businesses.
