The intent of this study is to determine the most efficient and cost effective method of providing distribution services in the management and operation of the Defense Distribution Depot Columbus (DDCO) located in Columbus, OH. This notice does not constitute a commitment by the Government. The study will determine whether these services should be performed under a contract with commercial sources or through the federal work force. The resultant contract awarded, if any, will be awarded on an all or none basis as a fixed price contract. The contract performance period will be a three year base period with the potential of an additional two year option period. This requirement will be issued on an unrestricted basis. SIC and Size Standard for this acquisition is 4225 -- $18.5M. The solicitation will be issued on or about November 12, 1998, and will be available by accessing the Defense Logistics Support Command Home Page http://www.supply.dla.mil/a76. Hard copies of the RFP will not be available. This solicitation will not result in a contract if government performance is determined to be more advantageous in accordance with OMB Circular A-76 procedures.
