Survey/Request for Information. The USIA International Broadcasting
Bureau (IBB) seeks information from qualified and experienced firms for
providing a "Traffic Scheduling System (TSS)" package. The TSS will
allow automated scheduling of broadcasting resources, such as radio
studios, transmission and program source circuits, recording and
playback devices, telephone interconnects, personnel, etc. It will
schedule events such as air shows, feed recordings, playback etc. The
TSS will operate on a widely supported, enterprise-type relational
data-base, exchanging traffic scheduling data electronically with other
data-base systems. The TSS will respond to user inquiries for data
display, indexed by any of the forgoing resources, and it will manually
or automatically output customer-defined reports. Interested firms
shall have documented experience in supplying TSS's as described above
for large-scale broadcast facilities, and they are requested to
provide pertinent capability experience by identifying and describing
customers/projects for which their firm has provided a TSS that meets
the above stated technical requirements. Interested firms shall have an
existing, off-the-shelf, working TSS that can be readily customized to
meet IBB's specific needs, and is available for demonstration.
Interested firms shall provide product, qualifications, and experience
