limited to the following minimum items: (1) Modify Tender/Barge
Interface, (2) Renew Tender Towing Knees, (3) Remove, Inspect, and
Reinstall Underwater Appendages (Tail and Intermediate Shafts,
Propellers, Steering and Flanking Rudder Assemblies), (4) Clean and
Test Grid Coolers, (5) Preserve Spud and Spud Well on Tender and Barge,
(6) Modify Sea Chest Suction Line for A/C Unit, (7) Overhaul, Renew,
and Test Valves, (8) Preserve Ballast Tanks, (9) Clean and Inspect
Diesel Fuel Tanks, Fuel Removal and Disposal, (10) Install Fuel Tank
Stripping Line, (11) Inspect and Test Air Receivers and Relief Valves,
(12) Inspect, Overhaul and Test Barge Boat Davits, (13) Overhaul Air
Capstan, (14) Inspect, Overhaul, and Test Appleton Crane, (15) Clean
and Inspect Sewage Tank, (16) Inspect Various Deck Fittings, (17) Renew
Vermiculite Coating in the Shaft Alley, (18) Preserve Barge Bouy Deck,
(19) Preserve Underwater Body (Tender and Barge) (20) Preserve
Freeboard (Tender and Barge), (21) Provide Temporary Logistics, (22)
Routine Drydocking, etc. Indefinite items include but are not limited
to the following: (1) Welding Repairs, (2) Inspection of Government
Furnished Tail & Intermediate Shaft, (3) Repairs to Tail and
Intermediate Shaft, (4) Renewal of Shaft Sleeves, (5) Renewal of Strut
and Strut Barrel, (6) Perform Minor Repairs and Reconditioning of
Propeller, (7) Renewal of Rudder Lower Bearing Trunk, Rudder Upper
Bearing Housing and Upper Bearing Housing Support, (8) Fabricate Tail
and Intermediate Shaft, (9) Renewal of Tender and Barge Spud Well
Liner, (10) Diesel Fuel Tanks -- Removal and Disposal of Additional
Fuel (500 Gallons), (11) Diesel Fuel Tanks -- Minor Coating Repair --
Up to 10%, (12) Sewage Tank -- Minor Coating Repair (10%), (13)
Ultrasonic Testing, (14) Additional Temporary Logistics, etc. Vessel's
homeport is Vicksburg, MS. Place of performance is restricted to the
Western Rivers ofthe United States. The "Western Rivers" means the
navigable portions of the Mississippi River and its tributaries above
mile 0 of the Lower Mississippi River. Navigable tributaries of the
Mississippi River include only the waterways within the areas of
jurisdiction of Coast Guard Aids to Navigation Facilities as described
in Light List Volume V (COMDTINST M16502.5), and the
Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway to the mouth of the Mobile River. This
includes protected portions of the Intra Coastal Waterway connected to
the "Western Rivers," but specifically excludes unprotected or open
waters such as Mobile Bay, Lake Borne, or the Gulf of Mexico. Vessel's
availability schedule is 08 March 1999 for 54 calendar days. Vessel is
a 75 Foot "E" Class River Tender and 130 Foot Barge. All referenced
documents are available for viewing at 300 East Main Street, Suite 500,
Norfolk, VA. A charge of $100.00 is required in the form of a certified
check or money order made payable to the U.S. Coast Guard for requested
drawings. AllBusinesses, large and small, are encouraged to submit bids
for the subject requirements. Plans and specifications will be issued
on of after 13 November 1998. All responsible sources may submit a bid
which shall be considered by the United States Coast Guard.
