This is an acquisition of retorted food products packed in polymeric trays to be used in the Heat and Serve Unitized Group Ration. This acquisition is unrestricted. It is the government's intention to award multiple contracts for limited production quantities (4000 -- 8000 trays per item) of four or five items of various polymeric traypack ration items to each firm that is capable of supplying these items no later than April, 1999, at prices comparable to those currently paid for metal traypack items. Offerors may choose from 22 various retort items which comprise five Breakfast and 10 Dinner Menus.
