SPECIAL NOTICES SUBJECT: SPECIAL NOTICE DESC: REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) No. 96-0412 This Request for Information (RFI) is the initiation of industry comments and is not a Request for Proposals. The Government does not intend to pay for any information furnished pursuant to this RFI. Sacramento ALC (SM- ALC) seeks your interest and any suggestions regarding SM-ALC's desire for Preventive Maintenance and Emergency Maintenance on Static Uninterruptible Power Supplies (SUPS), SUPS systems and batteries for Air Force, Department of Defense and other Government Agencies worldwide. The SUPS/SUP systems are primarily manufactured by EXIDE and EMERSON/LIEBERT; however, other manufacturers have also provided SUPS equipment. The SUPS and SUPS systems range in size from 3 kVA and up, with single and multimodule SUPS, Bypass Control Cabinets, Static Switch, Module Bypass Cabinets, which could range in excess of 1000kVA. Any resultant contract could cover up to 332 sites in a number of regions and geographic locations. Offerorsmust be able to work on SUPS/SUPS systems which have been produced by various manufacturers. The draft Work Description Document will be issued on November 5, 1998. Responses to this RFI that indicate the information therein is proprietary or represents confidential business information will be held in confidence for U.S. Government use only. However, SM-ALC's intent is to develop an RFP from the aggregate of the information provided from industry as a whole.
