Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory is issuing Request for Quotation
No. BF2082 for the purchase of Beam Waveguide Mirrors and Low
Frequency Receiver Turning Mirrors. These units are flat diamond-turned
mirrors made of aluminum with a surface flatness of 1 micron RMS
surface finish to permit optical alignment. Less than 0.1% of surface
area to be affected by voids or scratches. The Smithsonian
Astrophysical Observatory (SAO) requires a quantity of five (5) each
Beam Waveguide Mirrors M6, (354mm x 284mm x 32mm); sixteen (16) each
Low-Frequency Receiver Turning Mirrors M1, (132mm x 130mm x 20mm) and
sixteen (16) Low-Frequency Receiver Turning Mirrors M2, (220mm x 160mm
x 25mm. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified
Acquisition Procedures (SAP), Sic Code 3827, size std. 500. Requests
for the Quotation package may be faxed to Rena Cerbone at 617-495-7485,
reference RFQ BF2082. All responsible qualifying sources may submit a
quotation, which will be considered. Such quotations must be supported
by information to enable SAO to evaluate offeror's capability to
provide these items. Quotations will be evaluated on the following
criteria: 1) Technical experience with large size metal optics and
ability to meet SAO's specifications, 2) Price, 3) Delivery, SAO's
requirement is 6-8 weeks ARO and 4) Past Performance. Quotations must
