The Rocky Mountain Research Station -- Fire Sciences Laboratory located in Missoula, Montana, plans to acquire Information Technology Services for Fire Effects Modeling and development of computer systems, technical writing and literature searches, and technical consultation for assessment of fire effects and fire ecology, including fire behavior and related disciplines. Software will be developed to run on both personal computers under the Windows operating environment and on Unix Workstations, including the Forest Service IBM system. The written work will follow ANSI and FS standards. This project will be awarded for a base year (one calendar year after date of award) and will include four (4) additional option years, if the Government chooses to exercise its right to renew. The solicitation will be issued as a Request for Proposals and is an indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract with minimum and maximum dollar guarantees. The price range for this project (including all options) is between $500,000 and $1,000,000. The solicitation will be available on November 19, 1998. Closing date for receipt of proposals will be December 16, 1998. Contractor will be required to be available to work on-site and must be able to demonstrate ability to meet this requirement.
