Special Operations Command intends to issue on a sole source basis a
purchase order under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (FAR Part
13), to Applied Marine Technology, Inc. at 228 Lynnhaven Road, Suite
110, Virginia Beach, Va. 23452 for non-personal technical services for
Special Boat Unit Twenty (SBU-20) located in Virgina Beach, Va. The
services are to provide assistance in support of Maritime Craft Air
Delivery System (MCADS). Qualified parachutist, QA Inspector/Instructor
on 24' to 40' aerial delivery boats and all associated parachutes,
Qualified rigger for military G11, G12, G14 heavy cargo, and personnel
parachutes and a Military Static Line and Free Fall
Jumpmaster/Instructor are required in support of this effort. The
effort requires inspection, repair, packing, and rigging of specialized
parachutes and accessory systems, automatic actuation devices,
personnel and equipment bundle systems, and aerial delivery loads (up
to 25,000 lbs). The contractor will also identify and evaluate new,
off-the-shelf technologies that have direct application to the mission
and objectives of the MCADS Program. Some modification and fabrication
will be required under this effort to the parachutes, etc. Training
will be a requirement for "air delivery" which will entail developing
lesson plans, coordinating logistic support and providing training.
Performance of this effort will require a SECRET clearance for all
personnel working the effort. The work will be provide on-site at
SBU-20. No documents exist for this project. Prospective contractors
should submit written price and technical data within 10 days of this
notice to the contracting office. Interested firms must clearly and
convincingly document their capability to support the effort with
qualified personnel as stated above and meet the security requirements.
The anticipated period of performance is 20 Nov 98 through 30 Sep 99.
If no affirmative written responses are received by the due date, an
award will be made to Applied Marine Technology, Inc. on a sole source
basis. Respondents will not be notified of the results of the evaution
of the information received unless requested in writing. Oral
