B -- INDEFINITE QUANTITY CONTRACT WITH THE NATIONAL ACADEMY OF SCIENCES SOL DE-RP01-98PO80016 DUE 112198 POC Point of Contact -- Michelle Crecca, Contracting Officer, 202-426-0067 The Department of Energy has a continuing requirement to obtain objective and high quality scientific and engineering assessments of its missions and programs. The Congressional charter of the National Academy of Sciences charges it upon call from any Department of the U.S. Government to investigate, examine, experiment and report upon any subject of science or art. To the extent that the Department determines that it is in the public interest for its decision making processes to receive independent scientific and technical advice of unparalleled objectivity and of the highest quality, under this contract, the Academy may as directed, investigate, examine, experiment and/or report upon any subject relevant to the Department's missions, programs and activities. A sole-source, cost-type, indefinite-quantity contract is contemplated. This will be for a two-year base period and will include three one-year options.
