Q -- DEVELOP HEALTH STANDARDS SOL J2R93002 DUE 122198 POC Kathy O'Connor, (303) 231-5405 Mine Safety & Health Administration has a need for assistance in developing proposed and final health standards for the protection of mine workers. Health standards may involve regulation of employee exposure to toxic substances or harmful physical agents, and may contain the provision for medical examinations, protective clothing, employee training, exposure monitoring, and other measures to protect mine workers. The contractor may be required to prepare or assist in the development of qualitative or quantitative risk assessments that describe the risks to mine workers from occupational exposure to the toxic chemical or hazardous substances or agent, describe the associated health effects, and evaluate the strength of evidence. Assessments may include, but are not limited to dose-response assessment, exposure assessment, and hazard identification. It is expected the contract will cover a 5 year period. Estimated issuance of the RFP is November 25, 1998. Requests for copies of the solicitation willbe honored if received within twenty calendar days after issuance of the solicitation. There is no assurance that copies requested after the twentieth day will reach the requester before the due date for receipt of responses.
