BRADLEY (706) 545-2418 (Site Code DABT10) The Department of Defense Dependent Schools at Fort Benning, GA, is seeking prospective sources for bus service management and bus functions for school bus transportation for all preschool thru eighth grade students (approximately 1,300 students) residing from one to six miles from their respective school, approximately 100 special education students who cross Post school boundaries and reside from one to eight miles from their respective assigned school, and approximately 6 students who live on Post and attend special schools in Muscogee County and reside from one to twenty-five miles from their respective school. Bus service is required Monday thru Friday for 180 school days beginning on or about 24 August and ending about 10 Jun of each year and for no more than 50 days during the period June, July and August of each year for summer school as required. Contract period will include one base year and four one-year options. Services will be ordered by issuance of monthly delivery orders. Work involves all phases of bus management, operations and maintenance. Contractor shall furnish and maintain all buses and provide drivers for each bus. Bus aides shall be provided for children with varying degrees of mental or physical handicap while they are passengers on special education buses. Contractor shall furnish all personnel, equipment, relocatable office building, relocatable maintenance building, repair parts and supplies to manage and operate school bus transportation. Contractor shall provide and operate an on-site office at Fort Benning, GA. Contractor shall be responsible for bus scheduling, subject to the approval of the school. School buses provided shall not exceed the age of seven years at the beginning of the initial contract period. For information purposes only, during the school year 1997-98, the number of yellow regular school buses provided to fulfill the requirements of the contract was twenty-five (25) sixty-five (65) passengers or greater and eight (8) special education wheelchair buses.
