The U.S. Army Tank-automotive and Armaments Command (TACOM) intends to negotiate with Evans & Sutherland Computer Corporation on a sole source basis for maintenance of the hardware and software developed by Evans & Sutherland. TACOM is issuing a combined Synopsis/ Solicitation pursuant to FAR Subpart 12.6, this announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals will be accepted, however a written solicitation will not be issued. The Evans & Sutherland hardware is as follows: ESIG-3000 Computer Image Generator-First Channel and two additional channels, and the software is EaSIEST Modeling Software. The type of service is for a one year maintenance order with Evans & Sutherland offering a standard repair service agreement for the Computer Image Generator and telephone support, updates to the program and field service engineering for the EaSIEST Software. FOB Destination will apply. Provisions at FAR 52.212-1, Instructions to Offerors-Commercial, applies to this acquisition. The following factors shall be used to evaluate offers: (i) technical capability of the item offered to meet the Government requirement and (ii) price. Offerors Representation and Certification-Commercial Items at FAR 52.212-3 are required to be submitted with the offer. This commercial services solicitation is prepared in accordance with the format in FAR 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; it is issued as a request for proposal (RFP); proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This solicitation document incorporates provisions and clauses in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular FAC 90-45.
