synopsis issued on 2 November 1998 is hereby amended to change the
quantities from "one GSTAMIDS and an option for up to four additional
mine detection systems" to "2 GSTAMIDS and one mine detection system".
The entire revised synopsis is repeated. It is the intent of the CECOM
Acquisition Center to issue Request for Proposal DAAB15-98-R-1001 for
the Engineering and Manufacturing Development (EMD) phase of the Ground
Standoff Mine Detection Systems Block 0 (GSTAMIDS). GSTAMIDS consists
of a host vehicle, teleoperation control, mine detection system and
control vehicle. The host vehicle shall be the Meerkat (IVMMD Version)
with automatic transmission. The teleoperation control system shall be
the Standard Teleoperation System (STS). The mine detection system
shall provide the Army with the robust capability to detect and mark
metallic and nonmetallic anti-tank mines on-route. The control Vehicle
shall be the M113A3, which will be provided as GFE. The acquisition
will purchase two (2) GSTAMIDS and one (1) additional mine detection
systems. The RFP, number DAAB15-99-R-1001, will only be available on
the CECOM Acquisition Center's Business Opportunities Page. NO HARD
COPIES WILL BE PROVIDED. The RFP should be available on or about 17
November 1998 for downloading from the website located at
http://acbop.monmouth.army.mil. Proposals will be due 7 January 1999.
Scheduled award date is March 1999. Multiple awards within available
funding may be made. The contractors will be required to provide with
their proposal, evidence of sensor test results, sensor test data, and
verified sensor proof of performance. Questions should be directed to
