SOL DAMD17-99-R-0004 DUE 112198 POC Contract Specialist Archie Cardwell (301) 619-2630 (Site Code DAMD17) The Defense Pest Management Information Analysis Center (DPMIAC), Armed Forces Pest Management Board located at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, Forest Glen, Building 187, Silver Spring, MD 20910 has a requirement for the following services: The Contractor shall keyword and abstract material from periodicals, journals, books, reprints, reports, addenda, and other literature, as appropriate, which the Contractor shall pick up from and return to DPMIAC. These documents contain sophisticated technical terminology and require knowledge of specialized vocabularies peculiar to medical entomology, parasitology, microbiology, epidemiology, environmental biology, biostatistics, and related scientific disciplines. Documents may be in any language. The majority of documents to be keyworded and abstracted will be in English or some other West European language, but there will also be many papers written entirely in Slavic (especially Russian) or East Asian (especially Chinese) languages. The Contractor shall demonstrate reading ability in one or more romance (Spanish, Portuguese and Italian) and Teutonic (German, Scandinavian and Dutch) languages other than English. Further details are provided in the Solicitation package. It is anticipated that a Firm Fixed Price Contract with a Base Year and four (4) option periods will be awarded.
