NASA/JSC intends to contract with Syscom Development Inc. for continuation of the Personal Computer, Financial, and Status Management Support Contract for the Solar Systems Exploration Division, Medical Sciences Division, and the Flight Crew Support Division of the Space and Life Sciences Directorate. This is a continuation of an existing contract for 6-months (3-month extension with a 3-month option). The continuation is necessary to provide support while the contract effort is being reviewed as to continuation of the effort and to preclude unnecessary time and expense of interested 8(a) firms until this determination has been made. If continuation is recommended, it is planned that the follow-on contract will be awarded on a competitive basis to an 8(a) firm. The Government does not intend to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. See Note 26. An Ombudsman has been appointed. See Internet "Note B". See Note 22. Interested firms have 15 days from the publication of this synopsis to submit in writing to the identified point of contact, their qualifications/capabilities. Such qualifications/capabilities will be used solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. Responses received after the 15 days or without the required information will be considered nonresponsive to the synopsis and will not be considered. A determination by the Government to not compete this proposed effort on a full and open competitive basis, based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
