The office of Indian Education Programs, Bureau of Indian Affairs is searching for companies capable of providing two way satelite connectivity to Native American K through 12 schools located on Indian Reservations. The purpose of this connectivity is to provide these schools access to the internet and distance learning sources from the classroom via local area networks already installed. In addition, please state if your service is capable of providing voice concurrently with data over the connection. There will be multiple students and staff using the connection at any given time. The service should be capable of providing fast response when up to 100 users are simultaneously using the service. Internet service will be provided by the Bureau of Indian Affairs and the Department of Interior. The minimum connectivity requirements are 128 kbs outbound and 512 kbs inbound. The provider must have a hub earth station manned 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The Bureau of Indian Affaris will connect DOI Net to the hub earth station with a high speed terrestrial line.
