labor and materials to perform drydock and repairs for USCGC SWEETBRIER
(WLB 405), a 180' buoy tender, home moorage Cordova, Alaska. All work
will be performed at the contractor's facility during the period of 22
February 1999 and completing 30 April 1999. Work items to include:
ultrasonic measurement, underwater body inspection, fuel oil tank
cleaning and inspect, potable water tank clean and inspect, main
propulsion generator pedestal bearing replacement, propulsion shaft
liners renewal, propulsion shaft thrust bearing, stern seal, and
pedestal bearing overhaul, heat exchanger overhaul, electric motor
overhaul, Fathometer transducer renewal, cleaning and calibration of
pressure, temperature, and tachometer gauges, pressure relief valve
inspection and test, ventilation duct cleaning, vent fans overhaul, a/c
vibration absorbers installation, sea valve, sea strainer and waster
piece overhaul, evaporator chemical cleaning and hydrostatic test, air
receiver inspection and test, steering gear inspection and packing
renewal, rudder and rudder stock maintenance, brunvoll bow propulsion
maintenance, hydraulic cargo hoisting gear overhaul and test, level 2,
cargo hoisting padeye testing, anchor windlass overhaul, ground tackle
overhaul, allied DCT single point davit overhaul, seaark davit screw
assembly overhaul, sewage, turbid water, and vacuum sewage collection
tank pumps inspection and overhaul, chain locker preservation, buoy
deck preservation, underwater body preservation, zinc anode renewal,
temporary services, drydocking. The solicitation is issued in
accordance with the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration
Program. All responsive sources may submit a bid, which will be
considered by this agency. For Women-Owned and Disadvantage Business
Enterprises, the Department of Transportation (DOT) Minority, Office of
Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization has programs to assist
minority, women-owned and disadvantaged enterprises to acquire
short-term working capital assistance for transportation related
contracts. Loans are available under the DOT Short-Term Lending Program
(STLP) at the prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable
