NETWORKING SESSION The Office of Enterprise Development, in
conjunction with the Federal Technology Service's Office of
Acquisition, will conduct a Procurement Networking Session under
Solicitation TQD-RC-98-0002 for the procurement of information and
referral services to operate the nationwide Federal Information Center
(FIC). The networking session is intended to enhance overall
competition for the acquisition and encourage small, small
disadvantaged, and women-owned small businesses to compete for the
requirement as the potential contractor. The current FIC has a
nationwide service area with special attention paid to the residents of
about 85 key metropolitan areas. To perform this requirement the
proposed contractor must provide: i) All necessary personnel, training,
supervision, administrative support and management. ii) All facilities,
supplies, equipment, ADP hardware, ADP services (except services
provided by the Government); iii) Current information to the public
according to directions provided by the Government; iv) All software
and research and reference materials (except those provided by the
Government); and v) A quality control program. THE FIC ACQUISITION IS
A FULLY COMPETITIVE REQUIREMENT. HOWEVER, THE STANDARD INDUSTRIAL CODE
THAT APPLIES TO THE REQUIREMENT, 7375, IS SUBJECT TO THE SMALL
DISADVANTAGED BUSINESS PRICE ADJUSTMENT FACTOR. The solicitation will
be issued electronically on the Acquisition Reform Network's World Wide
Web site at http://eps.arnet.gov, and on the Federal Information
Center's site at http://fic.info.gov/rfp. THE NETWORKING SESSION IS
SCHEDULED FOR 9:00 A.M. -- 12:00 P.M., NOVEMBER 19, 1998, AT THE :
GENERAL SERVICES ADMINISTRATION CONFERENCE ROOM 6009 1800 F STREET, NW
WASHINGTON, DC 20405 Due to limited seating, only the first 35
business representatives to register will be allowed to participate in
the event. To ensure that the maximum number of businesses are
represented, only one representative per company will be admitted to
the session. All businesses wishing to participate in the networking
session must register via the Internet at Ernest.Woodson@gsa.gov no
later than the close of business on November 18, 1998. Any firm that is
planning to compete as a prime contractor and is interested in making
a presentation during the networking session should contact Ernest
Woodson at (202)501-1400 by the close of business, November 18, 1998.
All interested parties are notified that this networking session is not
a "Pre-proposal Conference" and that no technical questions regarding
the solicitation will be addressed at the session. THERE IS NO COST FOR
