Request for Proposal for a cost reimbursement, Cost-Plus-Fixed Fee
performance (result) oriented contract for the implementation of the
USAID/Guyana expanded economic opportuniti4es for the Urban and rural
poor results package. The U.S. Agency for International Development
(USAID) Mission to Guyana (USAID/Guyana) is seeking proposals from
qualified U.S. private firms, universities, or PVOs or other
not-for-profit non- governmental organizations (NGOs) for the
implementation of the Expanded Economic Opportunities for the Urban and
Rural Poor Results Package. To this effect, USAID/Guyana is
contemplating awarding a 60 months period of a performance (results)
oriented Cost Reimbursement, Cost-Plus-Fixed Fee contract. By the end
of this five-year contract, the following results are to have been
achieved: (1) Increased capacity to implement economic policy for
growth with equity; (2) Improved climate for private investment; (3)
Strengthened capacity of the private sector to influence public polity;
(4) Increased services available to support small and
micro-enterprises; and (5) Rehabilitation of productive infrastructure.
Primary Guyanese partners and customers will be the Ministries of
Finance and of Trade, Tourism, and Industry. RFP No. 504-99-001 for
this requirement will be available on or about November 16, 1998. This
award will be based on a full and open competition. The Request for
Proposal (RFP), when issued, will provide the final information on the
closing date. The preferred method of distribution of USAID
procurement information is via the Internet or by request of a
solicitation on a 3.5"floppy disk (WordPerfect 5.1/5.2 format). This
