The Federal Bureau of Prisons requires a small business contractor to supply and install two (2) high mast poles and lights, with an add alternate for an additional pole and light (1) at the Federal Correctional Institution, Ashland, Kentucky. The base bid will be a single line item for two (2) high mast lighting systems. In addition, there will be a single line item for the add alternate, one (1) high mast lighting system. Basics of the required lighting systems are as follows: 100 foot steel pole, complete with lowering device and luminaires in place, able to withstand sustained wind of 117 mph, gusts of 130%; each system shall have ten, 1000 watt, high pressure sodium bulbs. Award will be based upon price. The contractor shall also excavate and install 4000 psi concrete for this project. Detailed specifications and drawings will be included in the solicitation document. The magnitude is between $100,000 and $250,000. The projected IFB issuance date is November 24, 1998. The projected bid opening date is December 29, 1998. The sic code is 1731.
