intends to award one or more Indefinite Quantity Architect/Engineer
contracts for design, document preparation and contract administration
of individual projects at USPS owned and/or leased facilities
throughout the northern State of Alabama. Project types include site
adaptation of USPS CADD based standard plans for new facilities,
expansions to existing facilities, and larger repair and alteration
projects. The contract for architect-engineer services will be for two
years with a guaranteed minimum amount of $5,000. The contract may be
renewed for three one-year periods. Work orders for any one project
cannot exceed $250,000. The total contract amount cannot exceed
$2,500,000. The primary user of this contract will be the Facilities
Service Office located in Atlanta, GA. This contract is to cover the
northern portion of the State of Alabama; however, it may be used
occasionally within other areas of the southeastern United States.
Firms that have the qualifications to performthe services described
herein are invited to submit two (2) copies each of completed SF 255
"Architect-Engineer and Related Services Questionnaire for Specific
Project" and SF 254 "Architect-Engineer and Related Services
Questionnaire" for itself and for each of its proposed consultants to
the office shown above not later than December 10, 1998. The selection
will be conducted with the combined use of the submitted SF 255 and SF
254. Interested firms with more than one office must indicate on its SF
255 the staffing composition of the office in which the work will be
performed. Firms must have a minimum of two registered architects, have
a minimum of two years Autocadd experience, and must be able to provide
the services of at least one of each of the following disciplines (each
registered in Alabama): mechanical, electrical, structural, and civil
engineering. Any of the engineering disciplines may be provided through
outside consultant firms. Consideration will be given to firms
responding to this advertisement in accordance with foregoing
requirements in the following order of preference: (1) within the
northern portion of the State of Alabama (north from an imaginary line
drawn between Birmingham and Montgomery); (2) State of Alabama; and
(3) out of State. There is no restriction on the geographical location
of consultants. Firms must provide proof of or demonstrate the ability
to obtain errors and omissions insurance, minimum of $200,000 per
claim, with submittals (two copies). It is prohibited to pay any fee,
commission, percentage, or brokerage fee to any person or firm
contingent upon, or resulting from, award of these contract. No other
general notification of this project will be made. Submittals will not
be retained or returned. This is not a request for proposals. ONLY
OFFERS SUBMITTED BY U S POSTAL SERVICE OR HAND DELIVERED WILL BE
CONSIDERED IN COMPLIANCE WITH THIS SOLICITATION. SUBMITTALS RECEIVED BY
