necessary to perform homepier dockside repairs including but not
limited to the following base and options items: (1) Clean and inspect
diesel fuel and JP-5 fuel tanks, (2) Clean, inspect, disinfect, and
install tank level indicators in the potable water tank, (3) Clean and
inspect voids and ballast tanks, (4) Renew watertight scuttles and
doors, (5) Clean and inspect heat exchangers, (6) Clean emergency
generator in-place, (7) Install temperature transmitters, (8) Renew
waterproof ventilators, (9) Inspect waste heat recovery unit piping,
(10) Replace both fire pumps, (11) Install magazine sprinkler valves,
(12) Renew distilling plant piping, (13) Replace topside stanchions,
rails, and lifelines, (14) Clean, inspect and preserve grey water
collection and holding tank, (15) Galley renovation, and (16) Provide
temporary logistics. Vessel's homeport is located at 4000 Coast Guard
Boulevard, Portsmouth, Virginia 23703. The vessel's availability date
is 1 March 1999. Vessel length is 270 feet, width of vessel is 38 feet.
The performance period is FORTY-NINE (49) calendar days. This place of
performance is geographically restricted to vessel's homepier. All
reference documents are available for viewing at 300 East Main Street,
Suite 600, Norfolk, VA 23510-9102. A non-refundable charge of $100.00
is required in the form of a certified check or money order made
payable to the U.S. Coast Guard for requested drawings. Orders must be
placed within ten (10) days of solicitation issuance. All businesses,
large and small, are encouraged to submit bids for the subject
requirements. Plans and specifications will be issued on or after
December 8, 1998. All responsible sources may submit a bid which shall
