This is a Request for Information only. The United States Army is requesting technical information on commercially available improved nickel-metal hydride (NMH) and lithium-ion cells for military communications and electronics equipment. The NMH cells shall have the following characteristics and capabilities: (1) Cell size: AF; (2) High-rate performance: 1.1 Ah at 5 A; (3) Room temperature capacity: 1.9 Ah at 1.8 A; (4) Low temperature (-20 C) capacity: 1.0 Ah at 1.0 A; and (5) Charge retention: (Following 7 days at 50 C), 0.8 Ah at 1.8 A. The lithium-ion cells shall have the following characteristics and capabilities: (1) Cell size: 18650; (2) High-rate performance: 1.3 Ah at 3.3 A; (3) Room temperature capacity: 1.5 Ah at 667 mA; and (4) Low temperature (-20 C) capacity: 0.8 Ah at 667 mA.
