Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) contemplates issuing a Purchase
Order to design, conduct, analyze and report the findings of
descriptive literature in communities of first and second generation
immigrants from Nigeria living in metropolitan Houston, Texas. This
procurement shall be processed in accordance with the Simplified
Acquisition Procedures of Part 13 of the Federal Acquisition
Regulations. The purpose of this Purchase Order is to determine (1)
community perception of risk for acquiring travel-related illnesses
during visits to their home countries; 2) current sources of travel
health information used by community members; 3) reasons for non
adherence with travel health recommendation in these communities; 4)
real and perceived barriers to adherence with travel health
recommendations; and 5) information sources and channels through which
travel health messages could be effectively delivered to this
population. The period of performance is 12 months. This is a
simplified acquisition, 100% small business set-aside, issued as a
request for quotation (RFQ), 1999Q00033. Quotes submitted from other
than small businesses will be rejected. The Standard Industrial Code
(SIC) is 8741 and the size standard is $5M. Interested parties should
request RFQ 1999Q00033. The RFQ package will be available on or about
November 23, 1998. No telephone requests. Only written or FAX requests
