Rodabaugh (206) 526-6379, for copy of solicitation call (206) 526-6425 The Contractor shall provide observations using the Automated Surface Observing System (ASOS), which shall include augmenting, back-up and editing of ASOS observations at the Astoria Regional Airport, Astoria, Oregon. The observations are used by the FAA for control of air traffic, as well as by various private and Government forecasters.Hours of operation are 16 hours per day from 6AM until 10PM, seven days a week including all holidays. The contract period is April 1999 through September 30, 1999, with one option to extend performance through March 31,2001. All contract personnel must be certified prior to conducting any ASOS observations at the Astoria Regional Airport. A request for proposal will be issued on/about December 16, 1998.
