District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers requires the services of a
construction firm to convert existing Sound Suppressor Facility to
engine test stand facility. The contractor will be required to provide
services described below under Project Information. This will be a
firm fixed price contract action. It is anticipated the action will be
awarded January 1999 and completed July 1999. The estimated
construction cost range of project is from $100,000 to $250,000. This
announcement is open to all firms regardless of size. For additional

912/652-5105. PROJECT INFORMATION: The selected firm will be required
to perform the following services: Prepare necessary site adaptation
drawings for the installation of the test stand, Taurus Ring, and
Augmentor Collector. After these drawings are prepared, contractor will
meet with representatives from Pope AFB to review the general
arrangement and make any changesthat are deemed necessary by base
personnel. The project includes provision and installation of the
Taurus Ring and Augmentor Collector on the interior of the test bay;
installation of wind locks on the front doors; and repair of
inoperative air inlet louver operator on door No. 1 of the Hush House.
Contractor will assist personnel from Pope AFB in the location,
installation, and integration of the engine test stand and restraints,
fuel systems trailer, and control cab into the T-10 Hush House test
bay. Customer supplied equipment will consist of (1)engine test stand,
(2)test stand mounting hardware and cables, (3) fuel systems trailer,
(4) engine control cab, (5) electrical and hydraulic connection
cables, (6) motor generator (400 Hz power supply), if required, (7) B-9
rectifier (28 vdc power supply), if required, (8) cables to connect
motor generator and rectifier to primary electrical voltage supplied
from existing outlets in the Hush House, (9) cables to connect motor
generator and rectifier out-puts to control cab as required, (10) Air
start source (-60A) or equal, (11) air hose and connectors from the
-60A to the Hush House and from the Hush House interior wall to the
test stand. Contractor will perform acceptance testing and system
adjustment. Interested firms having the capability to do this work
shall submit a letter detailing previous experience with similar work,
no later than the close of business on the 30th day after the date of
this announcement. If the 30th day is a Saturday, Sunday or federal
holiday, the deadline is the close of business the next business day.
