66 -- SIX DEGREE OF FREEDOM SERVO-HYDRAULIC EXCITER SYSTEM DUE 112498 POC (RDPC)Contract Specialist, Melinda E. Dodson, AMSAM-AC-RD-AX, 256-842-7403, Contracting Officer, Richard Williams, 256-876-5207 The Dynamic Test Branch of the Redstone Technical Test Center, USA TECOM is seeking information from industry regarding capabilities to provide a commercial six degree-of-freedom (6-dof) servo-hydraulic exciter system. The system will be used as a general-purpose platform for performing 6-dof vibration testing on an array of military hardware. The system will be used in conjunction with an acoustic chamber; therefore, physical dimensions will be a major factor in the selection process. The system will be powered by an existing pressure compensated hydraulic power supply, which is rated at 100 GPM continuous flow at 3000 PSI (Mobil DTE-26 oil). The following paragraphs outline the "basic" system requirements. A specification will be developed subsequent to this source synopsis. All hardware and software required to meet the requirements outlined below must be commercially available. External dimensions shall have a nominal footprint of 48"(L) x 48"(W) x 64"(H) with a moving element with nominal dimensions of 32"(L) x 32"(W) x 32"(H). The moving element shall be configured such that any of the three mutually orthogonal 32" x 32" surfaces may be used as general purpose mounting surface. Each surface shall have a four-inch grid of threaded inserts. The exciters shall be integrated such that the system is capable of simultaneously producing motion in each of 6-dof (vertical, lateral, longitudinal, roll, pitch, and yaw). Each actuator shall be configured with minimum linear and angular motion capabilities of 2 inches DA and 6.5 degrees respectively. The force rating of each exciter shall be no less than 14 thousand pounds force (klbf). The moving portion of the exciter system shall have a first mode of no less than 300 Hz and a useable frequency bandwidth of DC -- 250 Hz. All power amplifiers, servos, and display units required to stabilize the system shall be included and configured by the supplier. A control system capable of performing 6-dof motion-replication and 6-dof spectrum/coherence referenced control shall also be included. The bandwidth of the control system shall be user selectable with a bandwidth of not less than 2000 Hz. The control system shall be configured with a graphical user interface for efficient user entry of reference profiles and user selectable parameters such as frequency resolution, test times, etc. The control system shall be configured with sufficient DAC channels to control each of the individual exciters (6 minimum) and 18 ADC feedback channels configurable as either control, limit, or measurement channels. Potential offerors should also provide information to the following: 1) Size and status of your company. 2) Catalog or printed information, including specifications, of commercially available product capable of meeting requirements. 3) Commercial pricing and cost of integration. 4) Approximate delivery time. The information contained herein is for planning purposes only and does not constitute a request for proposal. Solicitation documents are not available. Technical point of contact is Sharon Mueller-Myers, 256/876-5642. Proprietary data will be protected when properly marked. Interested offerors should respond by submitting answers to the questions and company information to the contracting officer. Responses are requested no later than 24 November 1998. Please provide information to U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Command, AMSAM-AC-RD-AX/MELINDA E. DODSON, Redstone Arsenal, Alabama 35898-5275. Posted 11/09/98 (W-SN269634). (0313)
