D -- ACQUISITION OF INFORMATION TECNOLOGY SERVICES SOL 50-YABC-9-00001 POC Donna Souders (301)457-1831 The Bureau of the Census, (BOC), has a requirement for the acquisition of information technology services for systems development, programming, operations and communications expertise to support information technology activities across the BOC commencing on or about March 1999. The BOC anticipates this procurement to be for a base period of one year with four additional one-year option periods. This will be an 8(a) competitive acquisition set-aside for eligible concerns as provided in Part 19.8 of the Federal Acquisition Regulation. This acquisition will be conducted pursuant to the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between DOC and SBA. The Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) Code for this acquisition is 7379. The solicitation will be released through the use of the Internet on or about November 23, 1998. As part of any response to the solicitation, BOC anticipates requesting past performance information be submitted not later than December 8, 1998. In addition, in order for the vendor community to better understand this project, a project agreement for this effort has been published in the BOC website. A vendors conference will be held at the BOC, in the Morris Hansen Auditorium in Federal Building #3. BOC is located at 4700 Silver Hill Road, Suitland, MD 20746. The conference is scheduled for November 24, 1998 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. For security reasons, interested vendors must sign up prior to attending the conference and are encouraged to arrive not later than 8:30 a.m. the day of the conference. In order to attend the conference, vendors shall submit: 1) the name and address of the firm, 2) name, telephone number, facsimile number, and e-mail address of the firms's designated point of contact. Due to seating limitations, vendors will be limited to only 1 attendee. Requests will be accepted on first come first served basis. Attendees must check-in at the guard station located at the main entrance to the BOC. The main entrance to the BOC is at the intersection of Silver Hill Rd. And Swan Road.
