equipment necessary to perform dockside repairs including, but not
limited to the following Base Items: (1) Clean, inspect, and disinfect
potable water tanks, (2) Clean and inspect main motor blower, (3)
Clean and inspect heat exchangers, (4) Replace fire pumps, (5) Inspect
and test air receivers, (6) Inspect, overhaul, and test weight
handling equipment, (7) Weight test shipboard davit crane (Allied
Marine Crane Model Davit 5000), (8) Weight test sea ark (UTL) davit,
(9) Preserve sewage and grey water collection and holding tanks, (10)
Renew/replace deck coverings and (11) Provide temporary logistics.
Options include, but are not limited to the following items: (1) Minor
coating repair of potable water tank, (2) Provide additional temporary
logistics, and (3) Composite Labor Rate. Repairs will be performed at
the vessel's homeport which is Mayport, Florida. Vessel's availability
is for thirty-five (35) days, starting March 8, 1999. There will be a
non-refundable charge of $100.00 required, in the form of a certified
check or money order payable to the U.S. Coast Guard, for requested
drawings. All other referenced documents are available for viewing at
300 East Main Street, Suite 600, Norfolk, Virginia. Funds are available
for this procurement. The proposed contract listed here is part of the
Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program. Plans and
specifications will be issued on or around December 1, 1998. All
responsible sources may submit a bid, which shall be considered by the
United States Coast Guard. This notice is for informational purposes
for Minority, Women-owned, and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises
(DBEs). The Department of Transportation (DOT), Office of Small and
Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU) has a program to acquire
short-term working capital assistance for transportation related
contracts. Loans are available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program
(STLP) at prime interest rates to provided accounts receivable
