Small business plays an essential role in assisting the Corps in
accomplishing its mission. Last year the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers
awarded over $2 billion in direct contracts to small businesses. The
format of this year's conference begins at Noon on Monday, December 7,
1998 with a general session concluding with an evening reception.

Opportunity Fair, concurrent breakout sessions on several timely topics
and a luncheon with guest speaker. This premier conference brings
together small business leaders and key USACE decision makers, from the
top level to commanders in the field where acquisitions are conducted.
It provides a forum for direct exchange of information and ideas
between senior USACE officials and small business leaders. The Business
Opportunity Fair, which is a significant feature of the conference,
will outline future business opportunities available in buying
commands. It is a unique opportunity to meet with all the Corps
Division and District Commanders along with their Deputies for Small
Business to address individual questions and concerns at their exhibit
area. The Fair will be open all day on Tuesday, December 8, 1998 so
you will have plenty of time to visit the exhibits. Target Audience:
CEOs and senior executives of small business, small disadvantaged
business and women-owned small business firms. Conference Purposes: To
provide a healthy exchange of information. To improve the small
