20 -- MARINE/SHIP EQUIPMENT POC Point of Contact -- Contract Specialist -- Kathy Fields, (410) 762-6473, Fax (410) 762-6056; Contracting Officer -- Sandra McKay, (410) 762-6476 POTENTIAL SOURCS SOUGHT: The U.S. Coast Guard is seeking potential sources to provide the following equipment/services: Rental of ultra-high pressure (36,000 to 41,000 PSI) water jetting pumps to accommodate up to 4 ultra-high pressure water blasting accessories such as wands or other high production jetting accessories, to remove up to 25 mil film thickness marine coatings from the exterior of Coast Guard vessels. Rentals will include the following items: 1) Ultra-high pressure water jet blasting pump or pumps capable of providing ultra high pressure simultaneously for up to 4 high production blasting accessories. The accessories shall be capable of removing up to 25 mil dry film thickness marine coatings. 2) Four hand held high production blasting wands or similar high production blasting accessories. Direct vacuum type accessories are acceptable and encouraged. 3) Vacuum unit capable of being used with direct vacuum type blasting accessories and to vacuum process water from containment areas. 4) Filter unit capable of filtration to 100 microns process of water from blasting operations. 5) Services of machinery technician to operate and repair as necessary the pumps, vacuum, accessory tools and filter units. The technician must be willing and capable of instructing Coast Guard personnel in the correct operation and repair of the rental machinery. 6) Provide technical information to the Coast Guard YARD on machinery and accessories proposed for rentals. The rental period shall begin upon delivery and set up of equipment. The Coast Guard YARD shall supply personnel and equipment to assist with set-up. The Coast Guard will supply fuel as necessary for pump operation. Rental period shall be for four weeks. Six days of operation per week, 8 hours per day. Rental period to begin on or about the 15th of December 1998.
