E-MAIL: David Carden, cardenjd@usano.ksc.nasa.gov. United Space
Alliance, LLC (USA), a NASA prime contractor at Kennedy Space Center
(KSC), FL, seeks sources capable of providing a monitor receiver which
is a component of the S-Band Communications Test Set used to perform
system level testing of the Space Shuttle onboard S-Band Communications
System. The monitor receiver shall acquire and track one of four
modulated S-band carriers. The monitor receiver shall be capable of
demodulating three different modulation techniques: Phase Modulation
(PM), Binary Phase Shift Keying (BPSK), and Pseudo Noise (PN) Spread
Spectrum. When operating in the PM mode, the monitor receiver shall be
capable of filtering modulated ranging subcarriers as well as digital
data from the demodulated baseband signal. It shall be capable of
providing the demodulated data, modulated ranging subcarriers, as well
as Automatic Gain Control (AGC) and Static Phase Error (SPE)
information to external systems. The monitor receiver shall be capable
of manual operation from the front panel as well as remote operation
controlled via a GP-IB bus. It shall be housed in a standard nineteen
inch EIA rack and shall be capable of being serviced for an operational
life of ten years. The formal solicitation will contain further
details. A total of three monitors is visualized, subject to the
availability of funds. This synopsis is for the sole purpose of
identifying prospective sources and does not commit USA to make an
award, nor to reimburse costs of submitting data. Indications of
interest should be forwarded to reach USA no later than 11/23/98 and
should contain data of company capabilities, experience in this and/or
related fields, and such other data as may indicate a bona fide
capability to satisfy the requirements set forth above. Address United
Space Alliance, LLC, 8550 Astronaut Blvd., Cape Canaveral, FL
32920-4304, Attn: Dave Carden, Mail Code USK-360. Questions may be
forwarded via FAX at (407) 861-6221.***** Posted 11/13/98 (D-SN271179).
