The National Institutes of Health (NIH) intends to purchase OPEN FORMULA SWINE & UNGULATE FEED for the Veterinary Resources Program (VRP), Office of Research Services (ORS), NIH, for NIH Laboratory Animal Research. The contractor shall be required to provide swine and ungulate feed in accordance with Government specifications. Approximately, fifteen (15) tons of swine feed delivered in fifty pound (50lb) bags and one hundred (100) tons shall be required to be delivered in bulk. Approximately, twenty (20) tons of ungulate feed shall be required to be delivered in bulk. A pre-award site visit to the vendor feed production facilities shall be made to ensure the vendor is in compliance with NIH Standard 1D, NIH Standard for Laboratory Animal Feed Processing and Mill Sanitation. Unannounced site visits post-award is a requirement of the statement of work to ensure compliance with NIH Standard 1D throughout the life of the contract. The Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) Code 2048, Size Standard 500 Employees will be used for this requirement. This is a Full And Open Competition Requirement. The award of a Fixed-Price Indefinite Delivery Requirements contract is anticipated. The contract period shall be approximately one (1) twelve (12) month base year and four (4) additional twelve (12) month consecutive option years.
