Crace, Contracting Officer, (706) 731-7173 Furnish A/E Services for the development of contract documents (drawings and specifications) and providing technical services during construction of project to provide Fire Sprinkler 2000. Project 509-99-105, Sprinkler 2000, DD, will provide a complete fire sprinkler system throughout Building 801, Downtown Division, Va Medical Center, 800 Bailie Drive, Augusta, Georgia. Building 801 is a seven story, 653,000 SF hospital which contains, but is not limited to the following: Surigcal suites, research labs, inpatient rooms, outpatient clinics, administrative offices, storage areas, mechanical/electrical rooms, etc. Approximately 15% to 20% of the building is currently protected. A six (6") inch riser connects all floors. Firms must meet the following criteria: 1) Must have a registered mechanical engineer and fire protection engineer on staff; 2) Must show expertise in the design of fire sprinkler systems with emphasis on systems designed for hospitals; 3) Must demonstrate knowledge of all applicable NFPArequirements; 4) Must be able to provide specifications in Microsoft Word; 5) Must be able to provide drawings in Autocad R14. Area of consideration limited to a 75 mile radius of Augusta, Georgia. This solicitation is issued under the provisions of the Small Business Demonstration Program (PL 100-656). Interested firms shall submit SF 254, A/E and Related Services Questionnaire and SF 255, A/E Related Services for Specific Projects to Contracting Officer, VA Medical Center, 1 Freedom Way, Augusta, Georgia 30904-6285. Evaluation factors based on: 1) Professional qualifications necessary for satisfactory performance of required services. 2) Specialized experience and technical competence in type of work required. 3) Capacity to accomplish work in the required time. 4) Past performance on contracts with Government agencies and private industry in terms of cost control, quality of work, and compliance with performance schedules. 5) Location in the general geographical area of the project and knowledge of the locality of the project.
