J -- SOLE SOURCE MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR OF EQUIPMENT SOL N00600-99-R-0087 DUE 122498 POC Judy harrison, Code 02W1.2H, (202) 433-2137 The Fleet and Industrial Supply Center Nofolk, Washington Detachment, intends to award a sole-source contract to Computerized Medical Systems, Inc., 1195 Corporate Lake, St. Louis, Missouri, for scheduled preventive maintenance, repair, and emergency services for the FOCUS 3-D Dimensional Treatment Planning System located at National Naval Medical Center Radiology Department. The maintenance shall include on-site remedial repairs conducted during normal working hours, 24-hour emergency service and regularly scheduled preventive maintenance. The FOCUS 3-D Dimensional Treatment Planning System is required in patient diagnosis of tumors and surrounding tissue for complete and thorough radiation treatment planning. The Contractor shall provide labor, tools, diagnostic equipment, software, material, supplies, transportation, parts, and equipment necessary to perform routine and emergency hardware services, and continued software support and updates. The contract will have one base year and three one-year periods. The contract will contain FAR Clause 52.217-8 for an additional 6-month option. The period of performance begins on 01 JAN 1999. The sole-source contract to Computerized Medical Systems, Inc., is necessary because no other known vendors possess the proprietary information associated with the equipment and software.
