Seefeldt (650) 493-5000 Ext 64822 VA Palo Alto reqires a construction contractor to design/build the renovation of Bldg. 43 which will house and facilitate engineering maintenance and repair shops. Contractor shall be required to furnish all labor, tools, materials, professional services, construction supervision and transportation. The work includes, but not limited to: Prepare construction documents based on VA approved design development drawing 640-97-158P sheets 1-5. Construction documents to be submitted to VA for review and approval prior to commencment of the renovation work. Submittal of construction documents shall include one complete set of hard copy in E size drawing and specifications, with professional stamp and wet signatures, breakdown of cost items be each trade involved in the design. Contractor shall provide a complete set of construction documents in electronic format, utilizing AutoCAD r14 for preparation of drawing, the latest Microsoft Word version for specifications and Suretract software for construction scheduling. Construction work includes the removal of the existing laundry equipment and demolition of the existing building components in the way of new construction. Provide new partitions, door/windows, stair, ramp, loading dock, modification and upgrade of existing bathrooms and office rooms, communication and computer data systems, electrical, plumbing and mechanical systems. Install/modify fire alarm/sprinkler system. Patch the demolition site to match existing surroundings, paint the entire interior of Bldg 43. Perform asbestos abatement in the areas indicated on the construction documents. Relocate the existing equipment from the existing M&R shops, Bldg 42, as well installation of new equipment. Contractor shall be responsible for cleaning the project site and hauling all construction debris to the local government's designated dumpsites.
