These board sets must be small for fitting into deep sea pressurecases and have low power requirements for long term (>1 year) battery operation. The modems and transducers must have a proven record of transmitting data through several kilometers of water with a bit error rate (BER) of <1 in 10*4 for periods exceeding 30 days and including condition of sea state 5 or greater.
