Congressionally-mandated paired-testing audit study of racial/ethnic
discrimination in housing rental and sales. The study, the third on
this topic sponsored by HUD, will be conducted in 20 communities,
nationwide. This study is expected to update and expand on one
performed in 1989. The report resulting from that study, entitled
"Housing Discrimination Study" is available through HUDUSER
(1-800-245-2691, or http://www.huduser.org. The RFP will be released
approximately December 7, 1998. The due date for proposals is
anticipated to be on or about February 15, 1999. A pre-proprosal
conference is anticipated. It will be held on or about January 6, 1999
in Washington, DC. Interested offerors will register for the
conferecne by calling a hotline or by E-mail. The hotline number and
directions for E-mail will be provided in the RFP. In addition to
answering offeror's questions, the conference will address the diverse
types of expertise required to conduct a national study of this kind.
The transcript from the conference will be made available by posting
on the Internet, on HUD's Contracting Home Page, as an amendment to the
RFP. National Survey or ogther research organizations without prior HUD
or specific housing discrimination experience are encouraged to
participate. HUD posts all required notices of its contracting
opportunities on its Internet Home Page Contracting Opportunities site
at http://www.hud.gov/cts/ctsoprty.html. NOTE: This solicitation will
be available for downloading no earlier than 16 days after the date of
this CBD announcement. Potential offerors who download copies of
