Renovate 76 bed Nursing Home Care Unit at the Greater Nebraska Health Care System, Grand Island Division, 2201 North Broadwell Avenue, Grand Island, Nebraska 68803-2196. It is the intent to award the Design Program and the Design Development to the same A/E firm. The Design Program will be awarded on a separate contract from the Design Development. The existing nursing home will be renovated to provide one and two patient rooms, toilet and/or bathing facilites and provide handicapped accessibility. Space will provided for patient dining and recreational activities. Total number of beds will remain at seventy six. The project will include preparation of preliminary architectural plans with cost estimates of all proposed work, contract drawings and specifications to fully depict work to be completed. The renovation consists of completely replacing major utility systems: including heating, ventilation and air conditioning, electrical, oxygen, air and vacuum systems, nurse call system, communication system, plumbing, sprinkler and fire alarm systems. A complete redesign of interior space will be accomplished to provide ADA compliant bedrooms, private and semi-private bathrooms, dayrooms, nurses stations, and other support space. All space must comply with NFPA and Life Safety codes. Work will include but not limited to demolition, electrical, carpentry, HVAC, plumbing, masonry. The estimated construction is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. Only firms with prior experience in the design of similar type projects, and those with professional capacity to complete this type of work, will be considered. This is not a request for proposal and is unrestricted as to business size.
