Z -- NEW ORLEANS, LA MAIN POST OFFICE 70113-9998 -- INSTALL COMPRESSED AIR SYSTEM SOL 482980-99-A-0614 DUE 121798 POC Samuel Curtis Gaddis, Project Manager, 214/819-7205 This solicitation is for the installation of a compressed air system at the existing Main Post Office, New Orleans, Louisiana. The work includes but is not limited to: 1. Install new air compressors, refrigerated dryers, oil separators and other related equipment. Remove old equipment, accessories and fasteners to level of adjacent floor, wall and ceiling construction. 2. Install new compressed air piping througout the Main Post Office as indicated. 3. Install valves, vertical drops and hose stations as indicated. 4. Repair existing construction where existing equipment and piping is removed. 5. Work shall be performed in phases, as indicated on the drawings and to allow continuous operation of postal equipment. All in accordance with plans and specifications. The building is occupied and the work will require coordination with the existing building tenants. Estimated cost range is approximately $620,000, and estimated construction tmie is a maximum of 270 calendar days. Pre-proposal conference to be held at subject site on Wednesday, December 2, 1998 at 10:00 am. Successful offeror must submit their Subcontracting Plan for Small and Minority Owned and Woman-Owned Business initially and thereafter with their progress payments. The contractor shall subcontract with minority business firms in an amount aggregating not less than 10% of the total value of its subcontracts. Offers will be received in this office prior to, but not later than 3:30 pm on December 17, 1998. This is a request for proposals, therefore no public opening will be conducted. The relative standing of offeror will not longer be disclosed due to the new performance evaluation factors as outlined in the solicitation package. The Postal Service will award a contract resulting from this solicitation to the responsible offeror whose proposal conforming to the solicitation offers offers the best value to the Postal Service. Offeror must include documentation from Federally approved, Treasury listed bonding agent indicating offeror's capability at the time offer is due. Performance bonds in the amount of 100% and Payment Bonds in the amount of 50% will be required from the successful offeror within forty-eight (48) hours after notification of award.
