Home Page, http://www.niaaa.nih.gov. E-MAIL: Sandra Reichard,
sreichar@willco.niaaa.nih.gov. The National Institute on Alcohol Abuse
and Alcoholism intends to negotiate a four month contract with Lohocla
Research Corporation for a project entitled "ISBRA/WHO International
Joint Project on State and Trait Markers of Heavy Alcohol Consumption
and Alcoholism." The proposed contract will support the conduct of
assay techniques on blood samples that have been collected on ISBRA/WHO
study subjects. This will aid NIAAA in its goal of beginning to develop
diagnostic "trait" markers which provide biological information on
genetically determined predisposing and protective factors in the
development of alcoholism. Authority: 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1), as set forth
in FAR 6.302-1. Lohocla Research Corporation is the only responsible
source since the blood samples are unique to this collaborative
international project and are under the proprietary possession of the
proposed contractor. Inquiries must be made in writing, telephone
inquiries are unacceptable. All responsible sources may submit a
proposal which, if timely, will be considered by the Government. See
Numbered Note 26 in the Commerce Business Daily. The Proposal will be
due on or about December 17, 1998.***** Posted 11/17/98 (W-SN272018).
