J -- PERFORM 10,000 HOURS SERVICE ON TWO CATERPILLAR D398 ENGINES, HONOLULU, HI SOL WASC9-513 DUE 120298 POC Melvin Fondue (206) 526-6043/FAX (206) 526-6025 Request for Quotation -- The NOAA Ship KA'IMIMOANA based in Honolulu,HI requires the service of an authorized OEM to perform 10,000 hour service on two (2) Caterpillar D398 engines, s/n 35Z01549 and 35Z01550. Service is to include: replacement of heads with OEM remanufactured heads, replacement of turbocharger cartridges, removal/clean/inspect aftercoolers, correct accessory drive cover oil leaks, rebuild jacket and raw water pumps, reset timing and test engines for one (1) hour on ship's load. ABS inspection required. The Government will provide the surveyor, it is the contractor's responsible for scheduling inspections. The ship will arrive Pearl Harbor, HI on December 11, 1998 and depart January 7, 1999. This is a simplified acquisition with an estimated value of less than $100,000.
