Sites, Contracting Officer, (202) 514-1886 The Office of Justice Programs (OJP), National Institute of Justice (NIJ), has a requirement for professional services to support NIJ's domestic and international initiatives with respect to the following functional areas: (1) Sponsor research and development to improve and strengthen the nation's system of justice with a balanced program of basic and applied research; (2) Evaluate the effectiveness of criminal justice and law enforcement programs and identify those that merit application elsewhere; (3) Test and demonstrate new and improved approaches to strengthen the justice system; (4) Support technological advances applicable to criminal justice. The SIC code for this requirement is 8732 (size standard $5.0 million). OJP envisions a multiple award indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity type of contract (with terms and conditions for pricing task orders on either a firm-fixed-price or time-and-materials basis); the total duration of the contract, including exercising any options, is anticipated tobe five years. For the base period and each option period, if exercised, the total minimum dollar value to be ordered is estimated to be between $10,000 and $100,000; the total maximum dollar value to be ordered per contractual period is estimated to be $5,000,000. OJP anticipates a Request for Proposal solicitation will be available fifteen (15) days after this notice is published (on or about December 4, 1998).
