E-MAIL: Frederick M. Larsen, flarsen@pica.army.mil. The U.S. Army
Armament, Research, Development and Engineering Center
(TACOM-ARDEC)currently has a need for an artillery fuze that has an
accurate four meter height of burst while meeting other safety and
performance criteria. Although no current fuze meets this criteria, it
was noted that two current fuzes can be modified to meet mission
requirements; the XM782 manufactured by Alliant Techsystems, Hopkins,
MN and a fuze based on the M734A1 proximity sensor that is manufactured
by KDI Corporation, Cincinnati, OH. It is intended that the Government
will issue sole source contracts to each of these firms for test and
evaluation. If any other contractor feels their fuze can meet the
Army's need please contact the Contracting Officer, Mr. Frederick M.
Larsen at (973)724-3992 or email flarsen@pica.army.mil. See numbered
