Tuesday, January 12, 1999 On Tuesday, January 12, 1999, the Office of
Business Development of the U.S. Agency for International Development
(USIAD Information Center) will be hosting the 1999 winter Ronald
Reagan Building and International Trade Center It Exposition. This
event will take place from 10:00 a.m. -- 2:00 p.m. With nearly 7,000
federal employees the building we are expecting a good attendee
turnout. This event will be promoted to: the GSA, Environmental
Protection Agency, Agency for International Development (AID), U.S.
Customs Services (UCSC), Private Tenants, U.S. Center for World Trade,
International Trade Center Institute, and the Department of Congress,
etc. International trade now accounts for nearly a quarter of total
U.S. economic activity and has been responsible for as much as one
third of the U.S. economy's growth over the last ten years. The value
of U.S. exports will soon approach a trillion dollars annually.
Recognizing the phenomenal growth, The International Trade Center is
the ideal setting for the execution of the government's plan to help
American companies compete successfully in the world marketplace. At
the U.S. Center for World Trade, Federal Agencies will be focusing on
serving a variety of customers and visitors including: Small and Medium
Sized Firms, Trade and Business Associations, Foreign Buying
Delegations, Major Industries, Cities, States, Regions, and Port
Authorities, Private Trade Consultants and Services, Outbound Trade
Missions, Regional Export Assistance Centers. The International Trade
Center and Ronald Regan Building is located in the heart of the
District, the Building's proximity to major government buildings,
embassies, and international audiences. It is the second largest
federal building in the nation after the Pentagon. This event is open
