The Naval Construction Battalion Center is soliciting request for proposal on a full and open competitive basis from qualified dealers to retrofit and modify four (4) government furnished Detroit Diesel engines. The modification to include furnish and install governor control kit and torque converter and to provide other additional items as required. The engines, Models 1062-7622 and 1062-5622 fit into LARC (Light Assault Recovery Craft) 60. Engines will be shipped to the successful offeror facility at government expense however, the return shipment must be quoted FOB Destination, Naval Construction Battalion Center, Gulfport, MS 39501-5001. A set of completed engines are available for inspection at the Naval Construction Battalion Center in Gulfport, MS and interested parties will have the chance to visit this site after the solicitation is issued.
